About

Raised in a small Midwestern town, JC Farris developed an early fascination with what lurks beneath ordinary life — a curiosity that now defines her work as a filmmaker and screenwriter. Her films confront classism and other systemic injustices, while emphasizing transformation and healing.

Working across narrative features, shorts, commercials, reality television, improv, and stage productions, JC brings a multidisciplinary perspective to storytelling. She has further developed her craft through selective programs, including the WomanInFan Talent Accelerator at Sitges Film Festival, Reykjavik International Film Festival Talent Lab, the Stowe Story Producers Lab, and the Chicago Independent Producers Lab.

Beyond filmmaking, JC serves on the SAG-AFTRA Table Read Competition committee, screens for festivals, and provides script analysis for industry competitions. A devoted traveler drawn to haunted places and hidden histories, JC is also a committed advocate for lifelong learning and artistic curiosity.
